Say goodbye to the VHF antennae, space
is being made here for the emergency services,

Coax is on the way out - but still
needed behind
RF and IF equipment such as
Freeview or Sky decoders |
Comprising of Free to Air analogue
TV, Free to Air Digital TV (Freeview) Reticulated Satellite TV,
DVD, BluRay and Camera signals provide content around the home
using televisions or other displays.
While the speculation is that RF will die out as a content
format over the next 10 years in the face of Wired or Wireless
TCPIP Content Delivery and Streaming Internet Content, RF is
finding a resurgence in the US at present for the provision of
Hi-Definition content. A massive bandwidth is available to
broadcasters in the VHF and UHF bands compared to the limited
capacity available on the IF (Satellite) Band.
A smart home will make use of plenty of RF (coax) cabling to
locations such as display positions, AV equipment positions, FM
Tuner positions and broadband router locations.
